Sad to say there is lots of opportunities in Detroit, but that breeds bad actors waiting to make a few bucks off someone.This was a recent story in the newspaper: http://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/special-repo...Guys like this are just the tip of the iceberg. 

I've found I can do as good a job as they can in most markets.

My biggest advice to you since I'm also just starting out in the industry is to network with as many people as you can in your current community and where you will end up living.

Hello @Lorraine Hadden,I've been absorbing as much information as I can in the last few weeks from all the links you listed and I must say, it's been great, but sometimes overwhelming and intimidating.

Glad you found the BP Podcast, I'd encourage you to read as much as you can in the resources section of the site.

And while that's happening I look to get what I can in terms of costs for things like insurance costs, historic expenses, pesky things like utilities bills, if the owner has to pay for a trash dumpster, property tax assessments, etc.  

My goal is to transact as much as I can in the next 10 years and keep investing with the proceeds.
