The water main is a 2 inch pipe which I’ve been told limits the amount of homes you could put there without again running lines from several streets away.

The sewer would be brought into the house by coring a four inch hole through the concrete wall of the basement (which does not yet exist) where it would then be connected much later by the plumber to the lift station.

If it's NMb cable they need to make sure the holes are not too close to the stud face, and nail protectors are in place, cables are secured to the framing every X inches, and the proper connectors are used.

I just spent all weekend with a rented tracked skidsteer loader with a monster bushhog cutting this bamboo down and grinding it up . it was more than my kubota's bushhog could handle , I still have at least another day with a york rake to clean up and pile the stuff up .At least I can pile it in the back of the lot , it would fill about six 40 yd cans .The fun part was this skidsteer and bushhog ripped thru the bamboo and it would grind up 4 inch saplings , I knocked over a couple trees roots and all came up .

I have about 2700 sq. ft. of driveway and I got quoted $165 for 2" - 6" (there's room to negotiate down to maybe $145), and for every inch above 6" its an extra $15.

It is a ranch home and the basement walls have a horizontal crack with a bow shape in the middle by 1-2 inches from vertical.

I have never felt comfortable with that level of risk, though I have all the respect in the world for people who do it.To me construction is always about fighting: for financing, for time, for inches of space, for quality workmanship and for the best materials at the price you can pay.
