That being said, my experience with private auctions is that unless the auction is absolute, i.e. no reserve price, it is of no benefit to the buyer, as winning the bid merely gives you the opportunity to negotiate with the seller unless you have already offered more than the seller's minimum sales price. all of which can be accomplished by negotiating with the seller without the auction bidding process.

Having said that, I need to clarify that I was not trying to turn this into a debate on immigration but merely pointing out that the California Republicans lost the Latino vote by fighting this battle and the party runs the risk of doing the same thing in other states that have a high Latino population.
