I was troubled by a rental for years and often this same one property still errks my nerves and keeps me from furthering my vision.

But it's up to the reader to decide if they want to get a better vision of the future of their investment.

Don’t focus on accumulation focus on cash flow.Once you achieve economic independence, you have a ten times advantage over everyone else that has to take their income to live off of it.If you’re looking to increase the size of your property investments, the best way to do it is by sticking to your vision and yourself.

But my vision is that i see a lot of successful people on here with rentals so whats the problem?

It's very difficult to get others to see the vision that you have especially when they're going to be dropping a quarter-million on a place that looks/smells how you've described.Good luck!

Design sense is worth a lot, but it's not always perceived as valuable as it truly is.I hope you find a good partner with whom you have a shared design vision.  

Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of great advice on here that is very helpful, but sometimes, you just have to stick with your vision! 

Put EVERYTHING in writing so there is no way one partner can change the vision of your investment.

@Erin Margaret, I'm with Wes... inspectors don't have x-ray vision, so if the conditions were concealed, they're not going to be able to report it.
