@Jacob Hammes I found that the vast majority of potential foreign investors (non U.S. citizens) back out or do not seriously consider investing in the U.S. if they have below a certain $ amount to invest...That said, I live in the U.S. and obviously do not have the potential regulatory burden.

Statements like "By allowing foreign buyers to buy American homes in large numbers, affordability of housing for American middle-class citizens is only going to further erode, eventually to the point of them not being able to afford homes in their own country." just show the author doesn't get it.
