We have a rental in a tropical area that is naturally humid and making it even more humid, our property is next to a pond.

Here in southern California on the new houses, rather than the tropical landscaping that's prevalent I'm thinking we should do a more modern xeriscaping. 

Or as I call it, Tropical Maine.

And lastly, myself, supervising remotely from some tropical beach with great wifi and delicious fruit cocktails with little bamboo umbrellas :)  

Because if it is, riddle me how in SD and ND we pop out dinosaur fossils left right and center, of how lush, green AND TROPICAL it was, and paleontologists will say "Oh, it was a lush jungle because the median temperatures were so much higher than today".   

Instead, many of them start with pictures of them on some tropical island, pictures of checks and promises of quick and easy wealth.

It may work out for me to continue to "upgrade" my studio-temple-castle.Then I want to move into "Wholesaling" opportunities, local & foreign, and then Buy-Hold-Rent when I have at least enough capital to have 50% equity or to be able to generate sufficient cash flow from an equivalent of 50% vacancy and large repairs.From here I want to quick jump to small commercial units (Apartments), and tropical (or at least sunny & warm 365 days/yr biking weather) Retirement Haven REI.Once I have sufficient income to be financially independent, with cash to spare to help family, then I'll devote all of my time to my Music and my Sadhana (Spiritual Practices).There's my business plan in a nutshell.

With no income tax, tropical Climate and Low cost of living, etc most of the software guys prefer to re locate here with no additional incentives.

If you are bored in the sea you can hiking in the tropical forest, only 20 minutes away, at night witnessing lava flowing from Mauna Loa eruption.
