However, I have reached out to and interviewed several PMs, and there seems to be a big communication issue - a large number of them are unresponsive, replying w/ pertinent info days after they said they would -  if at all. 

Try interviewing at least three managers.1.

Lastly, I can give you a few questions that you can use when interviewing agents to flesh out who really knows what they're doing.

I'd reccomend that you interview a few agents or brokers to help you list.

I have put together a list of questions for you to ask your lenders as you interview them.

I have not tried these, only one of our local property management companies uses this method.I'd be nervous about missing out on both the feedback about the unit and a chance to check out and informally interview applicants.
