I've lived here for 6 years, and the STR market is killing it, since we have so many waterfront areas (Ozello, Fort Island Trail, Pine Island, and so many more) but the only problem is that Crystal River passed a city ordinance banning short term rentals in an effort to protect the manatees and local culture.

Buoyed by a growing UMASS campus and a hip/cultured community it continues to see young professionals flocking here that are forced out of Boston.

Our strongest assets are our people and their cultures.... the number of authentic ethnic establishments.

She put her listing in the Vietnamese/Chinese newspaper ad section and in the month that her listing has been up, she's received 3-4 calls from tenants every week and is now scheduled to lease two of her rooms in the near future.

The best analogy I can think of right now is a Chinese finger trap.  

Being Chinese and having a direct pipeline into the Chinese economy, I know exactly where....HA!

I see a lot more headwinds (Chinese economy, oil prices in oil states, credit market turmoil) than tailwinds (household creation/job growth, consumer spending).  

I've come to suspect more and more that a lot of it simply has to do with culture.

Things like travel, first and foremost, because I have not been exposed to many other parts of the world and/or other cultures, and I would like to be.

The changing culture of work and remote workers are an increasingly large demographic which find incredible value in this offer.
