Almost 2 years ago, my disabled son purchased a home as a rental [and to live in it when and if he is ever able. wIt as an extreme fixer-upper but we worked on it every week-end [commuting from Denver] I fell in love with pueblo. husband and I both have bad physical problems and he was forced to retire way earlly. moving to Pueblo, with the prices of houses made it easy to decide to move there. 

They could have dyslexia or a similar disability and simply don't know how to read or write.  

I require they have a  year landlord(non related) referene, all adults and that all adults have a  year solid job reference , or disability award proof.

If the answer to animals is related to a disability, I answer "We gladly make reasonable accommodations for people with qualified disabilities."

(Thinking here of a $5m 0% down VA loan on a McMansion that's also your 2nd or 3rd concurrent VA loan, oh and the >$100,000 VA Funding fee was waived because you're disabled.)

another tenant type that we rented to under the program were senior or disabled single people, typically living on Social Security or disability.We never had a problem filling units when we put "SECTION 8 OK" in our ads. 

So as an aside, I can clean our lake house in about 7 hours all in ready for the next guest and I have a pretty significant disability.

They wanted an open ended time to leave, but at least 6 months additional to 2 years because the man was disabled with a bad back.As with everything you have to go through the process, so I asked for the doctor statement about the extent of the disability--recovery and accomodation.That is when the doctor blew it for them.
