Well you will have to have a title search done and then yes the lawyer could do the rest or sometimes you just get the title company to do it all without a lawyer. 

That said, I can appreciate a restored old building so I'm grateful there are people like you out there!

:@Eric Carr I understand the ARPANET aspect, and where things are stored and can be accessed/verified - when the infrastructure works/is restored.

And since it was built in the 1920's it could be under watch by the King County Historical Preservation Program... so there's that hurdle, but they would probably welcome someone who wants to restore it to its former glory.

I am curious to know how you restore pride in a community by throwing money at it.

In our area there are all kinds of contractors that do that type of work, companies like Service Master or Paul Davis Restoration. 

When I worked in the damage restoration business (mostly floods and fires) we would use multiple ozone units throughout the house after a fire.

I've sold over 100 REO properties and, while a few were good buys, in many cases the properties are in such poor condition that the cost to restore them can be significant.

Lastly, I can restore my entitlement by refinancing to a conventional non-VA loan option, but not the IRRRL?
