Specifically Halifax, but other markets in the area would be similar.Many of the ways that this can be done in the States is by using software like DealMachine, but I don't know of any software or websites like this that help in the Canadian market.COVID also makes it more challenging right now because there aren't any in-person networking events and door to door is discouraged and frowned upon.Been watching the MLS for the past several months, looked at about a dozen properties, made offers on three.

Its been a royal pain for everybody, not just residential builds.As for construction cost just on going vertical I would think for a "modest" house you are looking at a range of $120-150/sq ft.

Newby's Brew and Booze is a fun local hang, too :)In December, it was so very quiet, lots of Canadians :) The area sells itself however, and I imagine you'd be able to rent it out easily enough any time of the year.
