The only issue/destruction I've seen since them moving in is a 5' X 25' strip in the back yard that the dogs have worn the grass down to dirt and it's now mud

Unfortunately it seems to be really attached to the wall (of course, when you want it to stay on it comes off, and vicea versa).I have had someone suggest doing the entire wall in drywall mud and sanding but waaaaay too much work.
