It sounds like there was some misrepresentation, either intentional or not.

He’s not a pushy salesman, and I’ve got a business partner who has worked with him for the last 10 years without any issues.As for your situation, I wouldn’t say it sounds like a Ponzi scheme, but I’d strongly recommend meeting with the fund sponsor in person and asking as many questions as you can.

I understand that is not your history, but that is what you sound like today, IMHO.While the response was very weird and did not provide a date - I would not jump to the conclusion it is a ponzi scheme. 

Sounds like a scammer I would get him out of there asap.
