(Everyone complains that they can smell each other's food and smoke and  in each other's apartments ) The building is in Northern Jersey where I believe the building is responsible to provide ventilation by law. 

One of the reasons there is short supply of housing is because guy bought a 5 bedroom in 1980 and he is paying $1000 a year for it.  

When the biggest buyer in the market is gone, supply balloons and rates have to go up to bring in buyers.

They just keep saying they’re having supply issues.

Also, keep in mind that some areas of the country that have lower-cost properties have a limited supply of property managers.

Anybody can live in the large student housing complexes but there is a much more limited supply of rental houses near the University. 

The need is much much much greater and demand will continue to outpace supply.

But I still believe we have a huge supply and demand issue and the government needs to do something to spur new construction.

The few that I looked at but didn't buy would have had to have all of the wood removed and anything else that smelled of smoke.
