I'd love to buy up some land in the Christmas or Santiago Mountains, but I love hunting for and photographing rare snakes so that's sort of a niche use haha.The Chihuahuan desert and western mountains of Texas are no joke, it is some of the most remote, unpopulated, water-starved, but breathtakingly beautiful country in the entire US.Just FYI it's not that west Texans dislike solar or wind farms... we love money!

That's true in most parts of the country, but not the county we're buying in. 

No way am I going to deal with the TTTs....if you can't provide that, I'll just keep looking until I find someone who will tell me they can meet my needs, anywhere in the country. 

a lot of new investors pick the cheapest markets in the country regardless of how far away they are, and how much knowledge they have of them, and I think that's a huge mistake. 

I would prefer to pay the capital gains today as based on how we spend money as a country, that capital gains rate most likely is going to be heading up in the future not down.

I’ve watched clients reinvest capital from a tired old rental in one part of the country into vibrant, up-and-coming areas like certain pockets of Austin and San Antonio.

For his first two years here he stayed in a rooming house, because he couldn’t afford his own house or apartment.After World War II this country “got rich”, affordable housing became plentiful as “the suburbs” were developed.  

Obviously, this is just my own analysis but the new administration anticipation is the flavor of the year.I'm still yet to be fully sold that we're healthy as a country and that 100% of what we're being told will happen-- I'm betting less than 50%.

I found working with investors from around the country it is much easer and safer to let builders do what they do best and I will stay on the investment side.
