White Laminate countertops, all carpet.

This house does need about 15k in cosmetic updates (paint, trim, door hardware, cabinet paint and hardware, counter tops, appliances). 

KITCHEN:  (1) Oak Cabinets, (2) Lowes Laminate Countertop (Item 352060), (3) Bone tile throughout Kitchen & Dining room, (4) Black appliances, (5) Black double sink. 

If you are constantly on the move or in less than desirable areas I would be hesitant to put my Macbook Air on a moldy/dusty/undesirable counter top but I would have no problem putting my $300-500 laptop on the same counter bc they are easily replaceable just in case something happens.

I was wondering if anyone had any direction on how to find contractors, I know we will need someone for siding, flooring, decking, cabinets and counter tops along with others likely.

This foreclosure is in excellent condition, as it only needs a sink, new countertops, and appliances.

Well... the bathroom is almost finished, still no running water, kitchen is almost finished, still no countertops.

I am familiar with the areas and know that they're not bad at all, and the photos show clean, nicely renovated places (new appliances, granite countertops, etc. - the typical good-looking family home).

An appraiser will usually, in my experience, appraise higher if you have granite vs laminate countertops.

Where do you buy your granite counter top.
