As a result of all of this, I heavily modified my lease, and part of my app process is before you turn in an app I send you a blank copy of my lease to read and review and I add a question in the app that states that you agree that you have read and understand the lease.

My advice on situations like this if you are a small fish stay in your own back yard plenty of good deals .That way you can keep track of all the stuff that needs your attention fill in the blank ___.BIG fish well the whole USA can be played they have the team in place to do a long distance rent ,rehab etc...

Unfortunately, as you mentioned, there is no definite answer that I've come across either.Logic would say that since it is a NYC property, NYC income tax should be paid; however, Column B of Form IT-360.1 literally says "Amount of Column A for New York City resident period".I've run into this scenario before and actually spoke with both the NYS Dept. of Taxation and the NYC Dept. of Finance on multiple occasions - neither know the answer.
