High end renovations are not going to be a needle mover in this area - rental price is. 

I didn't own a lawn mover and didn't want to spend money on one! 

If you have to use movers, please get more than one estimate to do the move out ( several companies will try to screw you for four hours of human labor).

In our market the 1% of listing price, with a minimum of around $1500, also holds, for low-mid range houses.Our stager gives us a slight discount for volume/repeat business, but not much, as there are fixed costs with the movers, etc.

The better you can convey the notion that you’re a pro with everything in the world going for them, the better they’ll appreciate that they’re talking to a real mover and shaker and not some corpse stuffed into a cubicle somewhere in a call center.Divert the conversation into something personal.

Hire movers to pack,  load, transport and unload belongings that he wants to keep.
