thanks guys......i must say that i have been to and on countless investing sites and forums..and by far biggerpockets exceeds my expectations and all others on the web.....just from browsing i sense biggerpockets has a somewhat REI family feel...where everyone wants to help and encourage anyone and everyone to excel in REI....I love it...Keep up the good work guys......I will definetly be sticking around.

I should completely go through Lindahl and Scruggs' material by the end of February.I've also browsed through 50-100 other books relating to real estate.Next I plan to go through Darin Garman's Commercial Real Estate Investor Bootcamp.

Just doing some browsing on Zillow, for instance, that first property as a 4br cabin with a view would be $1M or above, no? 

Hello all,After reading the BP Beginners Guide, browsing the forums and reading a few titles on the best real estate book list, I've decided that investing in residential performing mortgage notes (1st position) might be the way for me to go.

It requires some programming knowledge to interface with it, but it is a stand-alone database that will run in the background.If you have a small list and don't plan on growing too large, what James suggested (Access) would work just fine or you could probably make something cool in Excel if you prefer.

Also browsing rentals on Airbnb and VRBO can give you an idea for what rates are but it is very season dependent here. 

I was just browsing through some Air BnB listings, when this one caught my eye -I guess if you don't really know what you own, just throw some numbers out there!

I don't pretend to know that market at all, but a quick browse of online rental sites don't show 2/1 duplex units renting at $750/ea.
