And it doesn't have the government/fed anti plunge protection team buying it up like the stock market has. 

Some cities are responding with anti-police legislation or even proposing to defund the police.

I believe if Real Estate is viewed as a career like Engineering or Medicine and not a hobby or a get rich quick, people would take the time to be educated and research as they would if they were going to take on a career in Engineering or Medicine.

One is anti-debt, and the other almost certainly requires it.With hard money, expect to set aside 20%-30% of the total costs to make the deal work. 

It used to be really something in the late 1800s with a medicine factory, a glass factory, and as a  transportation center for the surrounding farms.

Needless to say, another added cost and burden, aside from the already anti-landlord legislation that has passed. 

It's anti-climactic.

Seems like an overall anti-str tone from the local governments. 

I second what Brandon stated with the exemption of Mesquite, the city of Mesquite, TX is one of the most anti-landlords cities in the State of Texas.
