Electricity is marginally 'cleaner' but still gets 60+% of it's power from fossil fuels (gas and coal), so IMO that's not an issue.Heat pumps are known for not working well in cold climates, I think 18 degrees is their cut-off......But being in S Texas, you will not get that cold, and the new heat pumps have a built-in secondary heat strip system.

@Henry Clark has some good comments and questions above, but another part of this is the local development climate and what the industry looks like. 

What can they tell you about the current business climate?

Here is a good article that was published in a scientific journal that shows that the earth is NOT warming significantly and in fact have declined since 1998:http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/05/02/a_tale_of_two_thermometers/Having said that, the climate is ALWAYS changing, up and down.

The state has a business climate that is ranked 48th or 49th in the country by business leaders.

The seller is happy to get that type of return in this climate and I'm happy to use the rest of my cash for other purchases.

Great climate but man, it's crowded.

Climate controlled, boat storage?

People are finding out just being in a cheap area is enough to attract companies and people, but that just isn't true.CA gets a lot of flak over its business climate, some of which is deserved.  

The US Coastal areas have multiple climates, topographies, cultures, etc.
