You know, when I first started responding to your Political posts, there were a bunch of people who would support you and jump to your defense when you said something.

I have a BS in Legal Studies, dual MS in Cybersecurity/MBA, I mostly do system monitoring for a large defense contractor.

What do they say, @Douglas Brundin - the best offense is a good defense :) I totally hear what you're saying, just don't over think it too much.

In your first "insurance scenario", your insurer would be paying for your legal defense for a covered claim.

I would also recommend taking some kind of self defense class.

I practiced foreclosure defense several years ago and it wasn't uncommon to have a file where I delayed the process for over a year.

They make it sound like it's insurance but then when it's time to pay they hire defense counsel and fight it and then try to settle for less than the full amount. 

All while these States biggest industries outside of GA and FL being Defense and National Security related industries.Go look at who Donor and Receiver States are in terms of Federal Monies.

And nobody has even brought up the 'act of god' (the fires) , which supposedly is responsible for the delay and which would be a completely acceptable defense by the landlord. 

In their defense, they did warn me when showing me the apartment that whenever they mow (weekly), spiders will come in since it was a 1st floor apartment.
