Something hardwood-like, and in a traditional color that won't be outdated any time soon, like natural wood and not the latest gray colors that are already outdated.I guess think about if you were buying, what you'd be looking for that would matter more to you now, and other things that you would be willing to deal with later.For so many people who have pets, hardwood flooring matters the most.

I'm up there in years now and I've seen fads come and go, and have dealt with different landscape issues and pests and dust flingers and accent walls, and many different types of decor and colors that all went out of style almost as quickly as the stainless steel appliances and gray walls went up....oh, I meant avocado green, no wait, I meant gray and stainless steel are the new avocado green....Anyway, if you want to go with timeless and save money in the long run, you can't go wrong with white and clean, in my opinion.

We've got to where we just hit everything with "agreeable gray" from Behr (it's a sherwin williams color but Behr paint is better and they'll do any SW color).
