Figure out ways to enforce rules to protect yourself and the other renters.

Apprehended illegals will still be afforded due process (I presume since this is constitutionally protected for everyone in the United States). 

Kitchen cabinet handles were placed upside down, cabinet doors were installed backwards, electrical line for thermostat was ran on the inside of the bedroom exposed, trash swept into newly installs vents from the furnace, cracked tub, wall switches were installed sideways in some rooms, wall outlets were installed upside down on some walls, list goes on.

If you do, work to protect it!

But personally, sometimes the best strategy is protecting what you've built rather than pushing for more.

All they are doing is adding additional costs and getting zero protection.
