Love the advice @Chris Gibbs just because you can live "Rent free" why not pay off the mortgage sooner, build up equity in the house and use that as another financing option!

A fourplex is the right way to go if you want to live rent free and build an asset at the same time.

Try reaching out to facilities managers and HR teams for the large local tech companies and offer up the ability to house interns or new transplants that are new hires.
