It is a gorgeous gorgeous place here.Starting a working life in 1999 I was in the military working in disaster management; then a whitewater raft guide; then international aid worker; then writer; and then paramedic, all over a span of 13 years.Over that span of jobs but especially as a paramedic and before that as an aid worker in Sierra Leone I have seen everything in life without having actively participated in war.

Thus is not the deal to cut your teeth on and it is unlikely that the bank will agree to a short sale with a deployed veteran owner due to protections for Active Duty accorded through the Soldier and Sailors Relief Act.  

They are in a beautiful old west side neighborhood with gorgeous homes and tree-lined streets, but two blocks from the stadium, so people can walk to the game and not have to mess with the traffic.

He used to use  pacifiers until teething, now he just takes them out and chews on them.  

I stepped in and negotiated these all out for them. paying a bunch off foreclosing on a bunch etc etc. they got out of it by the skin of their teeth but lost ALL their money.

My median home built date is probably 1965, give or take.I do love lending on the gorgeous painted lady 1890s Victorian multi-unit conversions.

Garfield Park -- eh, I wouldn't be comfortable buying there even though it has gorgeous buildings you can get for a steal. 

Many on this board would give their eye teeth to be in your position.If I had this opportunity, I would take full advantage, work my butt off without counting the hours, and learn as many aspects of the business as I could.

There is a gorgeous new luxury condo that has just been put on sale in Tulum.

I gotta drive ever day for the next 2 weeks to make up for the deep teeth cleaning I'm gonna need soon .Best regards Bob
