As a disclosure, I'm living in West Africa (I'm a New Englander) and serving with the Peace Corps, so I am getting constant updates on the Ebola situation and consider myself pretty well-informed on the disease and statistics, especially in the most recent outbreak. 

One interesting thing about the idea of dropping 10,000 immigrants in Detroit is that it would provide the opportunity for the interaction of different cultures.There are a lot of old mill cities in New England where Bosnian, Serbian or Croatian refugees were resettled after the Balkan mess in the 90's.
