If the cement walk way goes all the way up to the house, plant low growing evergreens along the front walkway. 

maybe if it has a cement pad. 

If you talked to me last summer when I was sanding glue off wood stairs I would have told you this is going to be a long hard haul, but that hard work opened a lot of doors rather quickly.

There is a long winding driveway that leads to the garages in the rear with stairs that go up to the living level and actual FRONT door.The issue is that there is parking next to the house and direct access to the BACK door without using stairs which is what most people have done/will do.

Here are the options I'm currently booting around while I wait to close.1. sign all tenants who are currently under a month to month with a 3 month lease to let all my funds and the "new owner" feeling settle in with the tenantsa. update common areas like the halls, stairs, paint etc which will give "reason" to the upcoming rent raisesb. at the end of the 3 months raise the rents on those who need it most in hopes of either they leave or if they stay they're paying at least close to avg rents for the area if not the equivalent of the avg rents.c. as they move out update, raise the rents for the next tenants.2. 

It's 3 bed 3 bath and has the perfect square footage to add a 4th bedroom down stairs and egress window.

Some properties just do not work for dogs.My local housing inspector has put in writing for me that attempting to accommodate any canine would be an unreasonable burden to the neighbors (it has an up a lot of stairs, down a long hallway dorm layout).I believe most laws talk about an unreasonable burden. 

I am also interested in any options for how difficult it is to lay laminate flooring over stairs with no flooring experience.

That may not seem like a lot to some people but to my wife and I that is the first stair of our freedom #.
