I have never been but was turned onto researching Brookings when I ran into a National Geographic wildlife photographer that travels all over the world and he said that was his favorite place he has ever photographed.

Doesn't seem like a harmful change unless you take pride in calling yourself a lord. 

My caution come from not wanting them to harm the property they know I am rehabbing across the street.

I have not seen data but I have heard that owner occupied duplex and triplex owners are so harmed by the new normal for landlords in Oakland that sales prices for owner occupied duplexes and triplexes are declining.

Think about it - they didn't provide any capital, do any improvements or take any risk, yet they want to tell you, errr force you to run the business a certain way,  a way that is financially harmful to you.

While the goal is admirable, the approach taken by Proposition HH is deeply flawed and could ultimately harm the very people it aims to help.One of the most concerning aspects of Proposition HH is its potential to stifle investment in rental properties.

Even small raises in increments are more likely to do harm than good.
