So, if yuo lived there for 5 years and lets just say you rented it for 1 year, then only 5/6 of the capital gain is available for for the sec121 exclusion.Kinda of reverse of what you are doing, its part of @Dave Foster 's technique to try to get out the capital gain liability deferred from all the 1031's.
