Any recommendations for contractor or architect?

Hello BP community in Miami, I bought a land with a friend in Little Haiti and now we are looking for an architect investor friendly/mindset in order to start the drawing process.

Are they are good architects or builders in Chicago who can help get a zoning certification to make it a legal 3 unit?

I'm an architect by trade, and have completed 2 deals previously in a partnership, however can't make a splash on my own without some funding help.

Finding a construction company who can help with detailed architect plans has been difficult. 

He is going to make a great architect for customers as he will do what they want if he can without going nuts on the budget or crazy ideas.You are going to have to check and see what is allowed when it comes to structures.

Process: good architect and engineer, good GC, permits.  

It can also easily take 6+ months to get throught the process, and you would likely needed to have initiated a Zoning Attorney and an Architect prior to the submittal, hence why as @Mark Ainley had noted, many people would commonly opt for the "Duplex Down" option instead, where you dont gain the benefit of a 3rd unit, but you do gain the benefit of adding the additional sq.ft. as part of the 1st floor unit's finished area.Hope this helps!

But usually when I hear people flip , I rarely hear them mention designer or architect.

If you have to use any professionals (architect, engineer, asbestos contractor, etc.) make sure they have professional liability2.
