The icing for me was that they just ignore most of the comments about these kinds of things until I could get Ryan on the phone.

Getting paid is just icing on top IMO.

Can you rent one out for ice fishing season, or deer season--will anyone rent it out for that?

Clifton,Here in New England/NY Metro area it is a common occurance when there is an Ice Storm so we have dealt with it may times.

Get your checkbook out and pay, or your renter may leave, and the rental price you will get for a no AC house might make you upside down in mortgage payments, and draw less stable renters.If it takes two months to get the house re-rented, you will have to continue making mortgage, insurance and tax payments, with no rental income to offset.As has been said before, above, a temporary (few days) instal of window A/C's in the sleeping rooms would be appropriat, until the A/C is repared.Many A/C's freeze up into an ice block on the part inside the furnace and can be fixed with a few days of letting them melt.Other times it's just a big capacitor on the outside part.In both instances an unscrupulas tech may tell you the whole unit needs replacing (relying on the publics ignorace of how the system works).

My refrigerators at most have and ice maker. 

Ice dispensers, water dispensers, dishwashers, and garbage disposals?

Would be better off giving the tenant a yeti cooler with weekly ice delivery...
