Houses hear have posted a .6% growth if my facts don't fail me.My plan of action has currently gone from offense to defense.

They get defensive, but they really have little reason to defend themselves.As someone said, it comes across as a lie, wrapped in deception, anchored in misrepresentation.

His post takes away said defense.

And if they don't, then I think I have a reasonable defense if/when something were to happen. 

In their defense though, I am truly running two businesses, one being the management company and one being the repair/construction side which is how I am able to do larger repairs on top of general maintenance and management.  

The total assessed value for each of these houses ranges from 24K to 40K, so I'm not going to go broke playing it safe, but hate to give up thousands in depreciation if there is a defensible way around it.

But in their defense, if they helped you through the insurance process and are reasonably priced compared to other contractors, that should earn them a few extra points when you’re making a decision.

Your best defense is being prepared, you need to screen your tenants very very well, by getting multiple references referrals, and proof of income that is 3x their rents. 

For a debt to form thebasis of this offense, the accused must not have hada defense, or an equivalent offset or counterclaim,either in fact or according to the accused’s belief, atthe time alleged.

Unless this guy was protecting himself from these kids (and there is no reason to believe he was), I can't imagine any defense for his behavior.Unless additional details come out that support this guy's actions, I honestly hope they press charges.
