Those who have been in the country for a few years already and are aiming to purchase their second home etc will be in very different areas and attending totally different events than those who come as tourists which could transfer to potential buyers in the future.

It would be bringing thousands of jobs in and even more tourists, turning Schenectady into a tourist attraction on the Mohawk River and driving real estate prices up within the next 5 years.

The tourist tax revenue that the counties receive is too important to the counties plus the fact that there are so many vacation home developments that have been built or being built that are dependent on the short term rental market.Keith

The economy here is on a downward trend due to a variety of political issues in recent years, but the overall real estate market a few years ago was really hot in Istanbul...especially before perceptions of poor security drove a huge number of tourists away.

They can affect tourist traffic here for 1-3 months when it does happen.

@Kyle Laffey While some destinations, particularly those that are fly-to or cater to a majority international tourist, are going to feel some major long-term impacts, there are plenty that should bounce back just fine.
