Rooting for you!! 

I live and work in the Boston metro area, and have set up investing roots (and team members) in the Twin Cities to help manage my out of state investments. 

Rather than focus on that fact, we probably should be looking at the root and underlying cause of why such an order was put in place to begin with.

IE landlord wants the house back  LOL  or your wife is OK with moving and not having deep roots.. and or your OK with the schools.. but then you get booted and cant find a home in the right school district.. these are the downsides.

The root of the question- friend with husband who owns business that is still closed for COVID, collecting unemployment.

My guess is the root cause this time around is a weird interlinked syndrome of ETF inflation and zombie corporations, both further inflated by covid emergency facilities, and the unfortunate reality is that the QE spigot is likely to remain open. 1990s Japan looks like America’s fate to me lately. 

Not only will a MFH offset the high NJ prices but also give you some time to figure out where in the area you might want to lay more permanent roots down the line.
