Is the economy based on one sector or broad based?

Ideally I would like to be able to undertake some experience with someone who is firmly routed within this sector.

Either for purposes of leveraging for higher home loan amounts or for resale I'd like to start a discussion about what seems to be a missing opportunity here but don't know in what sector (banking, realtors, appraising, inspecting) it needs to occur.Any thoughts?

Can we as the private sector make it happen.  

People will tend to invest in Israel in the technology sector. 

The energy sector is beaten down, and for Fort Worth in particular, there are not that many big companies HQ'd there

My entire career I have beeing in the research sector (NASA robotics).

This has no doubt encouraged investing, especially in the corporate sector which now has something like 2.5 trillion in high yield bonds.  

I am interested in real estate and i was just wondering if this in one sector of real estate where I could make a good sum of money.

Buying best in sectors at specific price targets while they are on sale.
