How do you usually handle screening tenants, and have you found any helpful tools or tricks?

Probably the best example of unlicensed contractors operating with impunity are "gypsies" who trick elderly residents into "paying up front" for roofing or driveway blacktopping jobs.

Maybe a strongly worded letter may do the trick.

Don't put a bulky computer chair, but a simple dining chair with a desk should do the trick.

I haven't dived too deep into it yet, but it seems like it may do the trick. 

This usually does the trick for me.
