Im not sure if your profession, a CPA is eligible for the 20% pass through deduction (I think you are not if I remember correctly) but for those that are you can thank the Realtors that volunteered to lobby to get that included in the tax bill as we were the driving force in getting it into the bill. 

If you can't handle waiting for the money to be earned, you're in the wrong profession.

It's not a profession that is easy by any means, especially starting out. 

Becoming an agent is choosing another profession if you want it to be.

Just because someone has been in a profession for a long time doesn't mean they're good.

At least not if you have a good agent - and yes, I'm quite sure that like any profession, there are bad apples out there.I tell all of my buyers that I view my job as talking them OUT of every property we see. 

It may also be a great asset protection tool for those in high-risk professions like doctors.

In my job I work with doctors, lawyers, other business people, who make money at their profession and use the extra to invest in real estate.

I am now finishing up one property that is ideally located as a furnished rental catering to the travel nurse profession. 

I can definitely see some deferred maintenance on the building, but the business operation seemed smooth and profession on the surface.
