Take AIG's example as a cautionary tale.Remember Dividends are not guaranteed .The legal argument for them being not taxed is that they are considered a return of premium . the insurance company has in effect over charged you for the coverage and is reimbursing your for the funds not required to provide the protection.I may be getting too technical here so let me cut to the chase.If it is not your intention to leave your cash in the policy, for each dollar invested in the policy in the first 5 years how much do you have available to invest.

People buy spec homes and upgrade them to nicer appliances, and the builders often can't return the other ones, but the overcharge for the upgraded ones so they don't care.

It seems to work out well when it is a non-payment of rent case or issues regarding an HOA overcharging you.The main thing people don't realize about court is it's not suppose to be a bonanza for anyone but just make you even or whole before whatever happened.

That is not a very large % of the population.If you don't know construction and aren't there, then your contractors will overcharge you and bill for work that isn't done.
