I own an interior design and full home renovation business.  

I added extended driveway, RV parking, back yard landscaping w/ covered patio, shiplap on two interior walls, and painted accent walls in every room.

Interior wise, I really like framed wall art.

My fiancé is an interior designer and her friend from Las Vegas just bought an STR they hired her to furnish this summer.

I'm running into hangups with code section R302.3.1 which seemingly requires not only the floor separating the units to be fire rated but all the walls below supporting that floor to be fire rated (ie all exterior walls and load bearing interior walls on the first floor), which may mean extremely expensive fire rated windows at the lower unit.  

Also, air conditioning removes moisture/humidity from the interior airspace, and nearly every home in the Carolinas runs AC during the warm months.Crawlspaces tend to be where the majority of problems occur.

I am building a home that has toungue and groove interior walls and ceilings. 

I was told that if I were going to live in the unit I should only get interior insurance.

I'm a single family homebuilder/developer and I feel it's going to get very expensive once you pay power/water for the additional meters and then do the interior renovations to separate everything. 

These updates included modernizing the interior, enhancing curb appeal, and addressing key areas to make the home more attractive to buyers.
