It seems that no matter what they title them, they all do the same thing and cover the same material.I had an idea for a business, and this 3 day $499 seminar was supposed to help me launch it with ideas to fund it, creating my own corporation, developing my team (lawyer, accountant, etc.) and a database of potential clients, marketing, e-commerce, branding, licensing opportunities and the power of intellectual property... to becoming a franchisor and going public...I'm back and did not learn what was promised.

I am very handy and also intellectually bright with numbers and I have an accounting degree.

I would say, if you take money and credit out of the equation which for most part removes financing, all your left with is intellectual value.

Saying this based on my 20+ years in taxation and 15+ years in software development prior to that.Well let me correct you on a few points:1) Haven't totally changed careers (at least not yet), at present I am primarily limited to addressing the US and foreign tax law consequences of cross border transfers of intellectual property in the context of merger and restructuring changes (mostly for Silicon Valley companies, but not exclusively).2) Never made the claim you suggest so you will need to take that straw man back to where you found it.3) Often during my time in the trenchs we had to come up with answers to questions pertaining to mere proposed legislation, and telling the client to wait a year until we figure it out was not an option.

I know 'hand holding' is basically sharing intellectual property but isn't this the purpose of Bigger Pockets, to have a community to learn from and grow with?

Don't let yourself get caught in an intellectual web with investing.

Nothing too wild just an intellectual gathering of like minded individuals to build a network with.

but Guru's always want to use this intellectually dishonest comparison of FINANCING education.

I am fully 2 feet into this and want to put both the intellectual side and the construction side of me to work.
