I realize that my screening process likely isn't going to be impenetrable (try as I might) and I don't want anyone to lash out at my family if there is some disagreement that I cannot resolve.

It will require a fuller reply to dispose of the idea that a tenant who rents from me is somehow in more danger than the alternatives the rest of society offers them, or that my actions are harming the legal owner.
