My brother and I would like to be co-owners to the new property but our contribution to the purchase of the new home is by way of investment loan, so let's say my parent's home sells for 500k and they want to go in on a $1M piece of property.

Both me and my brother are at this stage at the moment, I'm browsing all loans that I can that will seem beneficial between me and him.

About 1.5 years ago, I purchased (conventional loan) and have been living in a 3x3.5 townhouse with a family member (brother) in a first attempt to start building equity through a house hack/BRRR strategy. 

Seller then can do whatever they want to do, accept or reject offer, call their brothers, sisters, hire appraisers, RE experts, contact a broker or REA to list their property.

The plan is to get my brother to get an FHA loan (approved for multiplex) and I cough up the dough :P...

My brother-in-law, a fire marshal, told me that even if the smoke detector is a melted lump of plastic and metal, they can easily determine if it was operational at the time of fire. 

He moved to Las Vegas and did pretty good as a real estate man and moved back to Granbury Texas (about an hour from Dallas) where his brother lived.I would not to make such a decision but you have to do what is legal or only accept verifiable employment because you just do not know the liability you are under.
