Im thinking of doing my demo now to bring as much back to an existing garage to avoid questions about the illegal dwelling area that was once used here. 

I would pay the demo fee/lien so that I can convert to a tax deed. 

Has anyone else dealt with Detroit houses on the demo list before?

Hi Ben,I have never gone through the entire process because I have not found one that was worth the time and effort; however, from how close I have come I was told  you will need to get a bond to stop demo.

Is there a better way or a specific type insurance I can get to cover the home until everything is fixed.Reno:Since I need to reno I'd like to do some of the demo and build myself.

Demo takes permits, it you are removing any drywall and exposing insulation that requires permits.

Although I would likely hire clean-out and maybe some demo people - nothing about those two interests me very much.Although as soon as I wrote that I realized that clever-demo-work Does interest me.

We've got a demo of MRI scheduled here in a couple of weeks.

But after the clean up, I realized there was extensively more damage than I originally thought, so the demo started!
