My question is whether we can hold the mother/son liable for the unpaid rent that has accrued since September to date or did their responsibility end when the tenant of record died.  

Just out of curiosity, and I really do mean this, where do the people who work in fast food, retail, grocery, the gig economy, lowbrow restaurant service, hospital/nursing care, and all the other poorly-paid jobs live?

I am already on the hook with interests being accrued with the family loan but have no rents to offset the high repayments.
