A self-directed 401k is no different from an IRA account at a brokerage in this respect - you just have the flexibility to diversify your retirement savings into a different type of asset beyond the confines of Wall St.So yes, your CPA is absolutely right, and yes, there are all kinds of folks here on BP and otherwise that are putting their 401k into real estate - it just has to be done the right way.I like to phrase it this way: "It is not you investing in real estate and having access to your retirement funds to do so.

The heading at the top states "THE FOLLOWING STATEMENTS OF THE OWNER ARE BASED ON OWNER'S ACTUAL KNOWLEDGE" and all questions are phrased as "Do you know of...".I would think all questions would need to be answered.

Memorize very short phrases, that's fine but mix it up with personal comments so it sounds as if you are discussing the subject and not reading a sales pitch.
