I'll tell you who feels bad -- a local REO broker I know who goes out to change the locks on his company's REO listings.The worst cases are when the foreclosed property owner hasn't told his tenants, usually keeping their rent money instead of continuing to pay the mortgage.You can imagine the scene when the Sheriff shows up to set out these innocent tenants while the broker changes the locks.

That said, I am new to the scene, and if there are any tips that some of you experienced guys and gals can spare, I would love to hear from you.I started my own business two years ago, after spending two years in sales.

Having grown up in NE, I often hear friends/family rave about how great Portland is (great food scene, artsy, craft breweries, young people moving there)...all the signs of gentrification.

I went to college in the city so by the time I bought my property, I got the Chicago bar scene out of my system. 

As many real estate investors can attest, these hedge funds are coming into the buying scene pretty hot, and are paying prices over retail for properties in California, Arizona, and other States in the West.

We passed on the information and my sense is that the attorney discovered there was no merit to the lawsuit or the insurance company is negotiating behind the scenes. 

Hey @Kevin Boyd - life insurance companies are a major "food group" of the commercial mortgage scene.

I am very intrigued by the idea of wholesaling and I want to network with individuals who are involved in this scene so I can make connections and learn as much as I can!
