Nobody is talking about that fact that their 401k just lost 7% and will probably continue to do so potentially year over year compounding down.It also means that real estate got 7% cheaper, which offsets about a thrid of the national appreciation gain last year (about 20%). 

For books I would suggest; Millionaire Next Door (teaches you that millionaires dont have exotic cars and mansions), then Rich Dad Poor Dad (Teaches you fundamentals of cash flow and compound interest and discipline), Then get into the real estate books (How to get started in Real estate by Brandon turner, Crushing it, what every real estate investor should know about cash flow, and the BRRRR strategy are great places to start.

By the time they do show up, you have made the same mistake a bunch of times in the interim, compounding the problem.  

This illustrates the power of compounding.It is compounding like this that I didn't see him touch on in his real estate investment deal analysis.

If I had enough money I would buy every single house in my neighborhood and demolish them and turn the property into a massive compound.
