I would think water like this against foundation could cause problems but I'm not a expert.Interesting what his insurance company would think. the Ice hazard is huge, but hard to find out who his carrier I bet, his insurance company could make him do the adjustment to the driveway.

@Steve R.Most residential real estate agents are not going to be out scouting for ugly houses ... if one is dropped in their lap, they may bring it to you - or to an agent in their office who is willing to deal with it.You have a far bigger chance of finding your own: read the local classifieds and your provinces version of the Royal Gazette for foreclosure/mortgage/tax sale announcements; lace-up your runners and get in a morning 5-miler around the neighbourhoods of interest; talk to the postal carriers, etc.

In a buy and hold situation, as long as the property is safe, you might be able to get away with doing less, whereas in a flip, you'll probably getting dinged on a home inspection and regret not doing the upgrades during the rehab process.In Florida, it is difficult to obtain a "normal" insurance policy through a traditional carrier without getting something called a 4-Point Inspection.

On the other side of it there could be a serious issue they see that you would want to get corrected.I write a lot with foremost and have my flips with them as they are accepting of issues other carriers run away from.
