Had we sold that summer, we would have had a tax problem from the appreciation.We started to see the rental market fall off in the Fall of 2007 coinciding with the extreme rise in gas prices.Of course, that meant that we and other owners were no longer breaking even on the rentals and there has been an extreme glut in cabins available due to foreclosure and distressed sales.Prices have plunged and what were once cash flowing properties are now bleeding cash.We have enough assets to weather the storm but most do not.
